Special Remarks
  • Our tutors do a voluntary work in IFMSA Chile, for which we ask for the maximum respect to the schedules and responsibilities in the exchange. Otherwise, the exchange will be canceled.
  • 90% attendance is mandatory in order to complete the rotation and receive the Certificate. Therefore, attendance for 18 weekdays in the 4-week rotation is necessary. The student is permitted to be absent for 2 days, but they have to inform the tutor and LORE in advance. More absent days cannot be replaced by night shifts, more working hours or weekends
  • The certificate will be issued on the last week of the rotation and will include 26 days, from the Monday of the first week to the Friday of the final week (4 full weeks).

COVID-19 circumstances:

Due to the recommendations of our ministry of health, accepted applicants shall arrive 10 days prior to the beginning of the rotation for preventive quarantine where the accommodation must be paid by the student.

2 negative PCR tests will be required. The first one upon the arrival to Chile and the second one should be done 48 hours before starting the research internship. Both PCR must be paid by the student. Also, the student must pay for their personal protective equipment (face masks, face shields, goggles, hand sanitizer, gloves) for the duration of their exchange in our country.

*About exchange certificates and COVID: We will keep the requirement of 90% of attendance to the research internship. In case the student gets infected with COVID during their exchange or quarantines interrupt the possibility of attending laboratories, universities or hospitals, exceptions could be accepted depending on the situation. Due to the aforementioned we recommend that the student has the maximum of the attendance starting from the beginning of their exchange, just in case any unfortunate situation occurs where the incoming students will have to miss their activities and responsibilities of the exchange. If they decide not to attend since the beginning and they get infected later or the city where they are having their research exchange goes back to quarantine or any phase with public capacity restrictions, they will end up with around 50-60% only of attendance, which is of course not enough for receiving a certificate.

Application Form
Special Remarks
  • Students must apply for 4 weeks exchange and for a calendar month exchange. First day of the month  (Monday) to last day of the month (Friday). Otherwise the AF will be returned
  • Students must apply for projects in three (3) different cities.  AF will be sent back in case of ignore this rule.

Some information about the Card of Documents:
  • Curriculum Vitae: This must include personal details, education, research experience, certifications, achievements, skills and languages. We also need to be mentioned details of the subjects the student is currently undertaking or has passed in Medical School (proved in the "Student's Record").
  • Copy of Passport: A photocopy of the page which displays the student's personal details is needed. All students need to upload their passport. Students from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, those students may upload their national identity document instead.
  • Proof of Enrolment: A document to prove the student is enrolled in a Medical School/University is required and must be signed and stamped by the University/Medical School of origin.
  • Student's Record (Subjects passed): A document listing the courses the student has completed is necessary and must be signed and stamped by the University/Medical School of origin. The student must have approved the clerkships he/she is applying for by the time of the exchange.

COVID-19 circumstances:
Health insurance must include COVID-19 coverage with a minimum coverage of USD $30.000 (this is a ministerial decree).

We highly recommend you get vaccinated. If the student had COVID-19 disease, must have an IgG antibody test done before travelling. If that is not the case, a negative PCR test is required. Both of them must be done a maximum of 72 hours prior to arrival in our country and must be sent to the LORE so we can check it out before the arrival of the student.
